Xiaoshi was diagnosed with 30° scoliosis at the age of 12, and her family went from Macau to Hong Kong searching for treatment. Although Xiaoshi had been very well-behaved and strictly followed the doctor's instructions, it turned to no effect, which made Xiaoshi's family very anxious.

Q: Thank you for sharing your experience. How did you find out that you had scoliosis, and what did you do to deal with it?

Xiaoshi's Dad: In 2019, we found out that Xiaoshi had uneven legs, so we went to the doctor, and then we found out that Xiaoshi had scoliosis. After a period of treatment in Macau, we went to an institution in Hong Kong where we customized a brace and learned some exercise methods, but the treatment did not have a significant effect for more than a year.

Q: What did you do after you found that the treatment was not working?

Xiaoshi's dad: We frantically searched for information on the Internet, hoping to find a more experienced team, and then we found Professor Yang and Xinmiao Centre. Xiaoshi: We had been treated in another institutions before. When we came to Xinmiao, we found that the introduction of scoliosis here is more professional and comprehensive. Q: When Xiaoshi started treatment at the age of 13, how long did it take to see significant changes?

Xiaoshi’s mother: After about half a year, we could see that the scoliosis angle of Xiaoshi has reduced significantly. The thoracic curvature reduced from 27° to 21°, and the lumbar curvature reduced from 30° to 20°. Since then, we had been working hard to complete various treatment requirements in strict accordance with Xinmiao treatment plan. Q: Do you feel uncomfortable wearing a brace at the beginning? How do you think of the brace of Xinmiao?

Xiaoshi’s mother: At the beginning, there was a process of adapting to the brace, especially in the hot weather in summer, wearing the brace would be a little uncomfortable, Xinmiao brace teacher helped us adjust the brace and also taught us how to wear it more comfortably, so Xiaoshi quickly adapted to wearing the brace.
