(Jakarta, August 27, 2026) ——Fosun Health, one of China's leading private healthcare groups, signed a strategic partnership agreement with Indonesia's Vasanta Group (Fanshengde Group) at the China (Guangdong)——Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum held in Jakarta. Hu Hang, Chairman and CEO of Fosun Health, and Denny Asalim, CEO of Vasanta Group, signed on behalf of their organizations.
Two Premium Private Hospitals in Jakarta
Under the partnership, the two parties plan to develop two high-end private hospitals in key areas of Jakarta, jointly building an international premium medical service platform in Indonesia. Vasanta Group will be responsible for hospital construction and capital investment, while Fosun Health will contribute its expertise in medical operations, specialty development, quality management, and international resource integration to oversee hospital operations and management.
Going forward, the two parties will establish a long-term collaboration mechanism built around the hospital projects, covering joint specialty development, medical technology and talent exchange, physician training, and two-way patient referrals —— promoting the cross-border sharing of high-quality medical resources between China and Indonesia.
Deepening China—Indonesia Cooperation in Healthcare
The signing took place during a Guangdong provincial delegation visit to Indonesia from August 26 to 28, 2026, led by Meng Fanli, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Governor of Guangdong. During the visit, the delegation met with Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and the two sides exchanged views on deepening trade and investment cooperation across new energy, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, agriculture and fisheries, the low-altitude economy, industrial parks, and tourism.
On August 27, Governor Meng Fanli chaired the China (Guangdong)——Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in Jakarta, which was also addressed by Wang Lutong, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia. Ambassador Wang noted that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China——Indonesia relations have maintained sound momentum, and expressed hope that the forum would deepen practical economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Representatives of major Indonesian business associations —— including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the Indonesian Chinese Business Association, and the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce ——also attended, and a broader signing ceremony of trade and investment projects between Guangdong and Indonesian enterprises was held on site.
This partnership marks a significant step in practical cooperation between Chinese and Indonesian enterprises in the healthcare sector, against the backdrop of steadily deepening economic and trade ties between Guangdong and Indonesia. It also extends Fosun Health's international medical services footprint, bringing its hospital operations expertise to more patients across Southeast Asia.
