In a significant development, Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital under Fosun Health has been accredited as a "2026 Medical Nutrition Weight Loss Teaching Unit." This follows the official launch of the application process in April 2025 for the annual designation, an initiative led by the Clinical Nutrition and Health Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care (CPAM), and co-organized by the Nutrition and Metabolism Committee of the Zhongguancun Strategic Alliance for Technological Innovation in Minimally Invasive Tumor Therapy. The program aims to select exemplary medical institutions to standardize and guide healthcare professionals in the application of medical weight management guidelines.
After a rigorous review by an expert committee, which comprehensively evaluated applicant institutions based on medical qualifications, team composition, clinical facilities, and operational standards, the Weight Management Center at Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital successfully met all criteria and was awarded the title.

Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital Weight Management Center Selected as "2026 Medical Nutrition Weight Loss Teaching Unit"
Looking ahead, the Weight Management Center at Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital will continue to strictly adhere to industry standards such as the Expert Consensus on Weight Management Processes for Overweight or Obese Populations (2021) and the Obesity Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines (2024 Edition). The center is committed to providing more professional and standardized weight management services for individuals with varying body conditions—including those who are overweight, obese, or underweight—living up to the trust and expectations of our patients.

Professional Weight Management
With standardized personalized interventions, patients typically achieve a monthly weight loss of approximately 3%–5%, along with simultaneous improvements in metabolic indicators such as blood glucose, lipid levels, and fatty liver. Since its establishment, the center has successfully helped numerous patients with severe obesity reach their weight loss goals—including one case where a patient lost 21 kilograms within three months.
Launch of Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Obesity Clinic for Precision Care
The Weight Management Center has brought together experts from nutrition, endocrinology, general surgery, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine, interventional medicine, and health management to launch an MDT obesity clinic. This clinic develops individualized nutrition and exercise plans for patients and, where medically appropriate, reasonably combines medication and bariatric surgery.
Combining Public Education with Practical Training Programs
To raise awareness about obesity prevention and treatment, the Weight Management Center carries out various science outreach initiatives and community health programs. This year, the center has successfully organized six sessions of the "Weight Loss Boot Camp" and a "Weight Loss Program for Obesity with Comorbidities." Participant feedback has been positive, with significant weight loss results observed. These activities will continue to be offered in the future to benefit more individuals in need.
