On August 8, 2025, the “Nihao! China–Bangladesh Health and Medical Advancement Expo,” hosted by the Belt and Road Healthcare Center, grandly opened in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital, as one of China’s leading comprehensive Class-III Grade-A hospitals, was invited to participate, presenting its advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies and international medical service model, actively promoting deep exchanges and cooperation between China and Bangladesh in the healthcare sector.

Multi-Party Efforts Convergence: Building a New Platform for China-Bangladesh Medical Cooperation

This expo brought together numerous high-quality Chinese medical institutions, along with officials and industry representatives from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, the Investment Development Authority, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, and others. The event aimed to create a new platform for China–Bangladesh medical cooperation, promoting practical collaboration in hospital construction, medical talent training, telemedicine, and the treatment of major diseases, with the goal of jointly enhancing regional healthcare services.

During the opening ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen expressed China’s willingness to work with Bangladesh to build a sustainable, people-centered, and technology-driven healthcare system, aligning China’s advanced medical technologies precisely with Bangladesh’s needs.

Professor Ye Gang, Chief Clinical Officer of Medical Oncology and Hematology of Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital, delivered a speech introducing the hospital’s overall strength and international development strategy. He noted that, leveraging Fosun Health’s global medical network, the hospital has established a comprehensive system in areas such as precision oncology and orthopedics, enabling it to provide “high-quality, personalized, and seamlessly connected” medical services to patients from Bangladesh and beyond.

Dr. Chen Linjian, Director of the Department of Joint Surgery, and Dr. Huang Guo of ZEN Premium Medical Center also engaged in in-depth exchanges with local institutions, sharing advances in robotic-assisted orthopedic surgery, multidisciplinary oncology consultation, and precision radiotherapy, while offering on-site health consultations.

To facilitate medical treatment in China for Bangladeshi patients, Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital offers dedicated services: respecting cultural and religious customs with halal restaurant recommendations; assisting with visas, airport transfers and accommodation; creating personalized treatment plans based on health, habits, affordability and dietary needs; and providing ongoing post-return health follow-ups, regular rehabilitation advice and remote consultations via the internet for long-term treatment and rehabilitation management.

Deepening Collaboration to Build a Cross-Border Relation

Following the expo, the Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital delegation actively carried out on-site visits and high-level meetings to further expand cooperation channels. The delegation first held in-depth discussions with Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, exploring pathways for integrating culture and healthcare between the two countries. They then engaged in productive talks with Noorjahan Begum, Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, on topics such as medical resource sharing, specialty development, and talent cultivation.

Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital’s participation in the China–Bangladesh Health and Medical Advancement Expo not only demonstrated the hospital’s strength and commitment in international medical cooperation, but also injected fresh momentum into the high-quality development of healthcare between China and Bangladesh under the “Belt and Road” framework.
