Dr. Li Guidong, a Chief Physician and graduate of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, hails from a family with a distinguished tradition in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a third-generation direct-lineage inheritor of the Guizhou Qingshan Medical School. He is dedicated to deeply integrating the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into the entire continuum of cancer management and treatment. From early screening, diagnosis, and treatment to rehabilitation management, and even extending to preventive interventions for high-risk populations and the reversal of precancerous lesions, he consistently adheres to the principle of equal emphasis on Traditional Chinese and Western medicine, striving to achieve both comprehensiveness and individualization in precision treatment.

On September 4, 2024, the TCM Oncology Center of Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital Cancer Hospital was officially launched. Under the leadership of specially appointed expert Professor Li Guidong, the center will further explore the integration and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine, aiming to create new synergies and enhance precision diagnosis and treatment for cancer patients.
On November 2, 2024, Professor Li Guidong was invited to attend the 7th Sunshine Oncology Medicine Conference hosted by the China Association of Chinese Medicine and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and organized by the Cancer Innovation Community of the China Association of Chinese Medicine and the Acupuncture Oncology Research Institute of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. At the conference, Professor Li delivered a keynote report titled Integrated Medical-Nutritional Therapy for Thyroid Cancer, in which he emphasized the importance of combining medical treatment and nutritional support in the management of thyroid cancer. He also shared insights on traditional Chinese medicine approaches—such as balancing iodine metabolism, regulating spleen and stomach function, and inhibiting ionized iodine intake—integrated with modern medical techniques to improve patients’ quality of life and achieve effective management and treatment of thyroid cancer.

In the future, Professor Li Guidong will join forces with ChanYu High-end Medical Center to establish a new systems medicine model centered on the precision diagnosis and treatment system. This initiative aims to provide more patients with integrated health promotion services covering “disease screening, precision diagnosis, targeted treatment, and preventive rehabilitation”, ultimately safeguarding their health.
