With 30 years of experience, Professor Song Changshan has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching, and basic research concerning benign and malignant thoracic tumors (including esophageal cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and mediastinal tumors) as well as emergency care for thoracic trauma. He has accumulated extensive experience in clinical work, teaching, basic scientific research, and postgraduate education. He has been repeatedly recognized as an Outstanding Worker by his institution and has received honors such as the Excellent Teacher Award from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Key Talented Doctor of Foshan. He specializes in performing radical surgeries for complex and challenging thoracic tumors like esophageal cancer, lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, and breast cancer, having personally performed various thoracic surgeries, including minimally invasive and radical procedures.

He manages the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as rib fractures, sternal fractures, hemopneumothorax, and pulmonary contusions, primarily through comprehensive rescue for major thoracic trauma. He is also proficient in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of various benign lung tumors, bullae, pleural diseases, empyema, spontaneous pneumothorax, bronchiectasis, mediastinal masses, and palmar hyperhidrosis.
He is highly skilled in advanced techniques such as thoracoscopy and Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery, achieving significant accomplishments in the minimally invasive surgical treatment of early-stage lung cancer, complex mediastinal tumors, and major thoracic trauma. Having successfully performed a large number of complex surgeries, his precise and steady technical style has established him as a leading figure in regional thoracic surgery.
