Mr. Yu Shaoping graduated from Guangdong Medical College in 1987 with a bachelor's degree. He currently serves as Vice President of the hospital, Director of the Department of Gastroenterology, and holds the title of Associate Chief Physician. He is skilled in procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, emergency gastroscopy, removal of foreign bodies from the upper gastrointestinal tract, endoscopic hemostasis, and high-frequency electroexcision of gastrointestinal polyps. He employs sigmoidoscopy for colorectal cancer screening and has expertise in the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, and pancreatic cancer, as well as the treatment of digestive diseases such as peptic ulcers, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, pancreatitis, and ulcerative colitis.
In 2000 and 2011, he was publicly funded by ministerial and provincial authorities for advanced digestive technique training in Japan and Germany, respectively. In July 2002, he attended a postgraduate course at Sun Yat-sen University Medical School. In October 2006, he passed the National Master of Business Administration (MBA) entrance examination and was admitted to Wuhan University of Technology (studies in progress). Since 1995, he has led colorectal cancer screening for telecommunications employees in the province using anti-human gastrointestinal cancer monoclonal antibody reagents combined with fiber colonoscopy. Having screened nearly 40,000 employees, he detected over 20 early-stage colorectal cancers and more than 1,000 colorectal polyps, contributing significantly to colorectal cancer prevention and control among this workforce. He has published numerous articles in domestic core professional journals, served as principal investigator for several research projects, and received one Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
He is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of various digestive diseases and the emergency management of critical and complex conditions. His endoscopic skills are highly adept, encompassing emergency gastroscopy, foreign body removal, endoscopic hemostasis, and polypectomy. He pioneered the use of simple, widely acceptable sigmoidoscopy for colorectal cancer screening and has substantial experience in the early diagnosis of colorectal, gastric, liver, and pancreatic cancers, as well as expertise in treating peptic ulcers, hepatitis, cirrhosis, pancreatitis, and ulcerative colitis. He has received one Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the telecommunications company.
