During his master’s degree studies, Dr. Zhang Jihong studied at the renowned Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Center of the Third Military Medical University of Chinese P.L.A., under the guidance of Professor Han Benli and Associate Professor Yang Kezhen, both esteemed figures in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery in China. For his doctoral studies, he attended the renowned First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, where he studied under Professors Huang Jiefu and Liang Lijian, also leading figures in China’s hepatobiliary and pancreatic field. He also served as a visiting scholar at the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department of the Queen Mary Hospital for clinical skills training, under the tutelage of internationally renowned Professor Fan Sheung Tat.
With extensive experience in clinical work in hepatobiliary and general surgery, he possesses solid professional theoretical knowledge and rich practical clinical experience. He has strong capabilities in pioneering new clinical services, excels in the diagnosis and treatment of general surgical diseases, and is proficient in performing open and laparoscopic surgeries for various hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and splenic diseases. His exquisite surgical skills have earned his widespread recognition among patients. He has presided over and participated in 5 provincial and municipal scientific research projects, published over 50 professional academic papers, and received one Second Prize and one Third Prize for Provincial-Level Scientific and Technological Progress. His previous positions include Attending Physician in Hepatobiliary Surgery at the former General Hospital of Southern Theatre Command, Chief Physician in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Guangzhou First People’s Hospital, Outstanding Talent of the Guangzhou Health Bureau, Academic Leader and Department Director of Hepatobiliary Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, Chief Physician in Hepatobiliary Surgery at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Director of Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Eastern Hospital of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and Deputy Director of Surgery at the same institution.
