Profile
With nearly 20 years of experience in hepatobiliary surgery, Dr. Zhang Haixiong studied under renowned hepatobiliary-pancreatic expert Professor Chen Huanwei. He completed advanced training in ultrasound-guided intervention at the Chinese PLA General Hospital in 2015 and further advanced his skills in hepatobiliary surgery at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in 2019, studying under esteemed hepatobiliary surgeons Professor Chen Yajin and Professor Min Jun.
Engaged long-term in clinical hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery and ultrasound-guided intervention, he possesses the capability to independently manage complex and challenging diseases within his specialty and resolve significant clinical problems. He frequently participates in consultations and emergency care for critically ill patients and has been invited to other hospitals for consultations and patient rescues.
Within the hospital, he utilizes technologies such as 3D reconstruction, fluorescence imaging, and intraoperative ultrasound to perform precise liver resections. He has introduced advanced domestic techniques including laparoscopic anatomical hepatectomy, fluorescence combined with laparoscopic ultrasound-guided portal vein puncture for anatomical hepatectomy, laparoscopic liver cancer ablation, and radical surgery for hepatobiliary tumors. The widespread clinical application of intraoperative ultrasound at the hospital under his purview earned high praise and a dedicated interview from the China Intraoperative Ultrasound Academy for Hepatobiliary Surgery, which awarded him the title of "Most Promising Rising Star."
