With over 35 years of extensive clinical experience, Professor Gu Weili is a distinguished figure in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He holds a Doctoral degree (PhD), serves as a Doctoral and Master’s Supervisor, and is an Visiting Professor at Nagasaki University, Japan.
Professor Gu has provided over a decade of leadership in clinical specialty management. Under his direction, his team has secured numerous prestigious accreditations, including:

His unit has been designated as an “ERAS Standard Ward” by the ERAS Committee of Chinese Chapter of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and as a “Guangdong Province ERAS Demonstration Ward for Hepatobiliary Surgery” by the Guangdong Medical Doctor Association.
A strong advocate for global medical exchange, Professor Gu has spearheaded the annual “Guangzhou-Nagasaki Forum of General Surgery” for five consecutive years. He has facilitated over 40 academic visits, short-term exchanges, long-term training, and joint postgraduate programs at Nagasaki University, Japan.
His scholarly contributions are substantial, including 14 SCI-indexed publications as first or corresponding author in the past five years (combined Impact Factor of 84.5, with a single highest IF of 25.0), one invention patent, one utility model patent, and currently leading research projects with total funding of 2 million RMB.

Dr. Gu specializes in surgical oncology for liver and pancreatic tumors, minimally invasive techniques for gallstones, common bile duct stones and splenic diseases, and the management of complex biliary tract diseases.
