Dr. Luo Pengfei is a renowned expert in interventional radiology and oncology, and the creator of the “Luo Pengfei Procedure Oncology Therapy” (awarded the Benelux International Patent, Patent No.: LU501835). He graduated from the Medical Department of Sun Yat-sen University in 1970 and earned his Master’s degree in Radiology from Kunming Medical University in 1982. He has dedicated his career to radiology and oncology. Dr. Luo has attended the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago five times and completed a one-year research fellowship in Japan. He has led or participated in multiple national and provincial-level research projects, with numerous scientific achievements to his name. He has served as chief or associate editor of five medical monographs and published over 40 papers in prominent domestic and international journals. Among these, 37 first-author papers in core journals have been cited 325 times, while 95 non-first-author papers have been cited 1,215 times. He has trained over 200 doctoral and master’s students, as well as visiting scholars. In September 2010, he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award by the 9th Chinese Society of Interventional Radiology, and in 2017, he was honored as a Pioneering Figure in Chinese Interventional Radiology at the 14th Chinese Interventional Academic Conference.

With over 40 years of clinical experience, Dr. Luo specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors, including liver cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, head and neck cancer, bone metastases, and colorectal cancer liver metastases.
As the creator of the internationally patented “Luo Pengfei Procedure Oncology Therapy”, Dr. Luo advocates that the biological activity of tumors can be inactivated. This methodology focuses on inactivating tumor biological activity through a three-step anti-cancer process: controlling, shrinking, and inactivating tumors, achieving highly effective and low-side-effect minimally invasive programmatic treatment for malignant tumors.
Dr. Luo performs minimally invasive portosystemic shunts for patients with portal hypertension complicated by gastrointestinal bleeding and conducts chemoperfusion & embolization for patients with left upper eyelid lymphoma. His research and academic pursuits have taken him across China and abroad. At 77, he continues to perform interventional procedures for over a thousand cancer patients annually, skillfully using catheters to puncture, perfuse, and treat, often achieving remarkable outcomes with seemingly effortless precision.
Even in retirement, Dr. Luo remains dedicated to his patients. He has chosen to collaborate with Guangzhou Fosun Chancheng Hospital (Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital) of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University to continue bringing the light to cancer patients. Dr. Luo expresses his commitment to safeguarding the health of cancer patients with his exquisite skills and relentless efforts, contributing to the development of interventional medicine in China.
